Early in the morning, the sun really shines through the front windows of this place with a name so fitting, "Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe."
As soon as you walk in, it's like you entered a diner set from a television show or a movie. It's a pleasant welcome with a country vibe complete with a diner bar and booths and tables.
Even though the menu may have a wide variety of breakfast and lunch choices, one of the items listed may be unique to what you usually order from a typical IHOP. Because, IHOP doesn't carry it and that is the Filipino Breakfast Combo.
Fried rice, eggs (I ordered mine over easy.), toast, and that unique sausage also known as the Filipino treat, Longanisa. It's basically a pork sausage with a hint of sweetness and it's really delicious.
Having fried rice for breakfast may be unconventional to some, but it really combines well with the flavors of the eggs and the sweet sausage. The toast is great for dipping too.
Along with the breakfast combo, I recommend you order a side of Tocino. This grilled cured pork prepared Filipino style has, like the Longanisa, the hint of sweetness complementing its tender texture.
Toss in a can of soda and that rounds off this whole delicious experience and, with that country ambience interior, it feels like a Sunday morning even if it's on a Wednesday given if the sun chooses to shine on a place that has the name that encourages it.
