Two reasons to order pasta, to ensure that your stomach is full and to taste guaranteed delicious flavor! The Portabella Pasta, from No Frill Bar And Grill in Norfolk, fulfilled both objectives super successfully!

First off, the serving size was huge. It felt like three meals. Yes, my fellow friends could verify that I was basically the last person who was still eating.

Also, it was like the 90s sitcom, “Family Matters.” It was comforting and cheesy at the same time and brought lots of joy!

The cheese happily plays tug of war with me as I try to string it up to my mouth. Don't worry, it didn't put up much of a fight.

So, what's in it? Andouille sausage, grilled chicken, tomatoes, red roasted peppers, onions, herbed crostinis, sun-dried tomato garlic pesto, wilted baby spinach, marinated and grilled portabella mushrooms, with penne pasta and melted provolone.

The garlic slightly complemented the meal, but it wasn't overwhelming, the tomatoes added a certain zest while the andouille sausage and the grilled chicken contributed a slightly salty taste to the rest of the flavors.

With the combination of those ingredients, it was overall delicious!

Now, on to the dessert! This chocolate cake was huge! You know when you eat a cake, you will definitely hit some dry spots? Well, surprisingly, it doesn't happen when you're eating this delicious piece. All of it was moist with rich chocolate. The chocolate syrup has been spread out inside the soft and crumbly texture and, while complementing it with some whip cream, I don't think I ever tasted a chocolate cake so perfect, and again, inside and out!

Everything has been washed down with Shirley Temples served with delicious real cherries. It tasted like refined cherry Sprite! It was a satisfying soft drink that really quenched my thirst!

Overall, for a place not known for its pastas or chocolate cake or even its soda, I am still impressed by No Frill Bar And Grill in Norfolk. It hasn't done me wrong, yet!
