Bel Aire Pancake House
This is probably the closest thing to time travel! That's what I eventually thought of when a friend took me to this place. It's the Bel Aire Pancake House.
As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by aqua colored booth sitting and a vibe straight from the era of jukeboxes and classic convertibles.
It's the ideal 50s you traveled into! The one you see portrayed in television shows and movies!
And, what's good to order to eat in this kind of classic nostalgic place?
Why not? It may sound basic, but the portion size is not! The burger is so big it takes a knife to hold it together and also two hands.
The tomato was thinly sliced complementing the moist patties as it was topped with cheese and pickle. The lettuce rounds it out as a dash of mayo complements the whole sandwich. I personally added a dash of ketchup, but it doesn't need it.
One of the better burgers I tried in Norfolk with a well balance of flavors with nothing overwhelming. Also, the bacon added under request packed in more of a nice punch to an overall tasty entrée.
The onion rings were a perfect complement to the double cheeseburger. Crispy to eat with that cooked onion taste.
