If you ever visit Hampton Roads, you're basically in Virginia and the state is part of the south. And, when you think of the south, you think of southern fried chicken. Even though I tried this place a while back ago, a friend mentioned it and I figured it was worth trying again.

Sure, there's your typical franchises like Kentucky Fried Chicken and Chick Fil-A, but, come on, you're in Virginia! You should try Pollard's Chicken a local franchise started in Norfolk!

Well breaded and served fresh, this southern fried chicken comes with that authentic homemade taste that usually come if your mama cooked it herself! That is if she can cook! And, if she fried this dish, she sure can! Bottom line, the chicken is delicious!

Now, if the chicken by itself is that good, why don't you try it as a chicken sandwich?

The patty also has that nice authentic taste and the tomato, onion, pickle, lettuce freshly complemented the chicken well. The cheese enhances the overall dish and the fries that come with it would fill you up!

But, the scene stealer is the Boston Crème Pie. Served as a huge slice, this perfectly balanced portion of sugar has a certain sweetness that is not too overwhelming, but enough to enjoy! It is comforting to enjoy as you taste the soft bready texture with the whip cream in the middle and the chocolate on top! You must try it!

Overall, the atmosphere of Pollard's Chicken definitely has a nice light vibe as if you're ready to take an afternoon nap and you might after this meal. Chicken art neatly displays themselves on the walls and the worker we had was really nice!
